A serene, multi‑tier waterfall cascades over moss‑covered volcanic rocks in a shaded Vosges forest. In the foreground, fresh spring blooms of white butterbur (Petasites albus) rise from the damp bank, their starry flower heads catching soft backlight. The long exposure renders the water as silky veils flowing through the ravine, while surrounding greenery—mosses and young leaves—signals early spring. Likely location: the Frankenthal–Missheimle cirque near Hohneck in the Vosges Mountains, Alsace, France. No people or buildings are present; the scene communicates calm, cleansing tranquility and a rejuvenating spring mood. Photo copyrighted by Hans Enderl.

A refined macro captures three delicate yellow, star-shaped blossoms of the yellow star-of-Bethlehem (Gagea lutea) with their six gleaming tepals and prominent stamens. The linear, arching leaves and deep bokeh suggest a shaded forest floor, with shafts of spring sunlight picking out the petals’ texture. Likely photographed in April in Frankenthal, Alsace (Frankenthal–Missheimle area), France. The overall mood is serene, fresh, and quietly celebratory of early spring.

Two wild daffodils (Narcissus pseudonarcissus, also called Lent lily) are photographed close-up, their pale perianth and deep yellow trumpets shining translucently in backlight. Slender green leaves rise around them, while the dark, softly blurred background creates sparkling bokeh that emphasizes the flowers’ spring freshness. Likely taken in Frankenthal, Alsace (France) in April. The image carries a serene, hopeful spring mood. Photo © Hans Enderl.
